VIENTIANE, LAOS-- Aug. 21-- Inter City Hotel is proud to announce the opening of its boutique restaurant at 11 a.m. on September 4th. The restaurant, located in the main lobby on the ground floor, will feature traditional Lao and Thai cuisine, as well as western dishes such as the popular "sizzling steak." Locals are encouraged to bring their friends, family, and guest: the restaurant is offering a a buy-one-get-one-free appetizer deal for parties up to 6 people.
Hotel owner Eddie Fang, is also the founder of Inter City's sister hotels, Ramayana Boutique, and Ramayana Luang Prabang. Eddie credits his American-born son, Spenser, as the foodie who brought the "sizzling steak" concept to Laos to impress local eaters. Fang's son is a local restaurateur who was raised in California and moved to Laos after a short stint in culinary school. He hopes to introduce elements of western cuisine into his restaurants so that locals in Vientiane can experience the melting pot of flavors from his childhood.
"A lot of the people in Laos have never even seen or heard of the idea of Mexican food, barbecue, or even the idea of a sizzling steak. I want them to be able to experience the food I grew up with without having to fly to another country. I think it would be really nice to show people what it was like to grow up in another part of the world.” said the younger Fang. In addition to being the manager of the Inter City's newest restaurant, Spenser is the owner of All American Joint, an American barbecue restaurant in downtown Vientiane.
Guests are welcome to dine in for lunch and dinner at the Inter City Hotel Restaurant from 11 a.m to 9 p.m. The hotel is located at 24-25 Fa-Ngum Road in the Ban Wat Chan, Chanthabuly district by the Mekong River. For more inquiries call the hotel concierge at +856 21 242 842.
